Writer's picture: jaredcampbell31jaredcampbell31

Introduction:

As I transition from a period of deep reflection to a season of active teaching, I find myself returning to the transformative power of scripture, with Acts 3 as a focal point. With my theological studies resuming next week and Sunday school preparations underway, this passage offers a profound reminder of the faith that empowers, heals, and encourages us to serve. This study will guide us through the miraculous healing at the temple gate, revealing timeless lessons. I eagerly anticipate exploring these lessons with you in our upcoming sessions, and I hope you are as excited and prepared as I am.

Faith, Empowerment, and Acts Chapter 3

Jared led a discussion on the power of faith, focusing on the lessons from Acts chapter 3. He emphasized the importance of faith in empowering, healing, and encouraging individuals to serve. Jared highlighted the miraculous healing at the Temple Gate as a timeless lesson. He then broke down the first ten verses of Acts chapter 3 from the Orthodox Study Bible, sharing the story of a lame man who was healed. The discussion concluded with Jared encouraging the attendees to ask the Lord to shine into their hearts and understand his teachings better.

Prayer at Specific Hours and Healing Sacrament

Jared discussed the profound and significant practice of prayer at specific hours throughout the day, emphasizing its continuation from Jewish tradition to early Christian practice. He highlighted the significance of the 9th hour, or 3 o'clock, as a time for prayer and supplication, citing examples from the Bible. Jared also touched on the sacrament of healing as a manifestation of God's presence in the church and the gospel's message. Lastly, he referenced a passage from John about the power of prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, underlining the importance and power of this tradition.

Peter's Sermon on Acts 3 and Repentance

Jared preached in Acts chapter 3, focusing on the healing of the lame man and the message of repentance and conversion. Jared explained that repentance involves a complete change of heart and mind, leading to forgiveness of sins, renewal, and confidence in the second coming of Christ. He concluded by blessing the congregation and encouraging them to follow his teachings in the future, which will focus more on teaching than reflection.

In Christ, love Jared W. Campbell
