Our Daily Bread: We Need Prayer and Fasting more now then Ever Before: Trust in the Lord Isaiah 26:4

Shalom,

Today’s message is about seeking Yeshua in a time of trials and tribulations and how the power of prayer and fasting can help lead you to the promised land. I’m a little rusty since coming down with COVID19 and then the fallout in Afghanistan. I have been full of anger for over 12 days now. I woke up this morning ready to go, and for the first time in nearly two weeks I was able to get back to my daily prayer routine.

Spiritual Warfare is real, do not forget Ephesians 6:10-20, we must get ourselves armored up with the full power of Christ our God, the Holy One Yeshua Hamashiach! I have been wrapped into my own spiritual warfare since Joe Biden decided to not only turn his back on the people of Afghanistan, but he also decided to leave American citizens there behind enemy lines. The Bible says pray for our leaders and our enemies, and this is what I have struggled with lately. So here it goes, let's pray for our leaders and all those who are suffering at the hands of their oppressors!

Prayer of Intercession

Yeshua, we pray for peace in the world. For all faithful and Orthodox Christians. For all the Archbishops and all the Bishops, and I want to pray for our church Saint George Greek Orthodox Church and our families, pray for all our brothers and sisters in Christ. For our country, our President, and all those in public service. For our parents, our brothers and sisters, our children, our relatives and friends, and all people. For those who hate us and those who love us. For those who work with us and those who serve us. For those who asked of us, unworthy as we are, we pray for them. For travelers by land, sea and air. For prisoners and captives. For those who are hungry, those who are suffering, and those who are sick. For those departed from this life in hope of the resurrection. Through the prayers of our Holy Fathers, Lord Yeshua Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us all. Amen!

Power in Prayer: William Barclay has said that “in praying for those we love we must remember; (1) the love of God that wants the best for them; (2) the wisdom of God that knows what is best for them; and (3) the power of God that can accomplish it.” -My Daily Orthodox Prayer Book

Closing and the Lord’s prayer:

Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want; He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul. He leads me in the path of righteousness for His name sake.

Even though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Through the prayers of our Holy Fathers, Lord Yeshua Hamashiach (Jesus Christ our God) , have mercy on me and save me. Amen!

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen

God Bless You All!
