Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.
Greek word of the Day- ἑρμηνεύω hermēneúō, her-mayn-yoo'-o; from a presumed derivative of G2060(as the god of language); to translate:—interpret.
John 1:38-42
38 Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?”
They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?”
39 He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).
40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the [a]Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus.
Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of [b]Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, [c]A Stone).
First Reading ISAIAH 37:33-38:6
See vv. 36-38 in Isaiah 37- THE ANGEL OF THE LORD steps in. God wipes out the enemy without using any weapon, and king Nisroch was killed by his own sons.
See Isaiah 38:1-6 and my video for my discussion- King Hezekiah was sick and afflicted, but he also had too much pride - (I read 2 Chronicles 32:24-27 out of my Orthodox Study Bible). King Hezekiah humbled himself before the Lord in prayer and was given another fifteen years of life to live.
Second Reading GENESIS 13:12-18
Lot unlike Abraham walked by sight and not by faith - 2 Corinthians 5:7- "For we walk by faith, not by sight."
Lot's soul was tormented daily because the people of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful before God see v. 13 in Genesis 13. 2 Peter 2:7-8- and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)—
The Lord eventually delivered righteous Lot from Sodom- 2 Peter 2:9- then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,
Third Reading PROVERBS 14:27-15:4
"Finished up Proverbs 14 "Righteousness at Home" and started Proverbs 15 - "Righteous Responses"
JOHN 3:16-17 - Verse of the Day
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
