“Holding Fast: Faith, Work, and Watchfulness” 2 Thessalonians 2-3:6

Exploring Second Thessalonians Chapter 2 - TIME 0:00

Jared, the meeting host, led a discussion on Second Thessalonians, Chapter 2, focusing on false teaching about the second coming of Christ and authentic tradition. He began with a prayer, asking for divine knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures. The meeting also included reading the first 12 verses of the Second Thessalonians, Chapter 2, and discussing the great apostasy. The conversation ended with a prayer to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Apostasy, Antichrist, and the Second Coming - TIME 2:40

Jared discussed the concept of a general falling away from Christ and the Church, which he called apostasy. He also talked about the revealing of the man of sin, or the Antichrist, who is described in the Old Testament and mentioned by Christ in Matthew 24:15. Jared emphasized that the devil incites division among people, making them more susceptible to the Antichrist when he comes. He also noted that the Antichrist would exalt himself above God, perform deceptive miracles and wonders through Satanic power, and eventually be removed from power by Christ at his second coming. Jared concluded by stating that when the world worsens, Christians must not be distressed or deceived; instead, they should believe the truth and not the lie.

Preserving Holy Tradition in the Church - TIME 10:01-18:38

Jared led a discussion on the importance of preserving traditions in the context of the New Testament. He differentiated between the tradition of men, which is condemned, and the tradition of the apostles or holy tradition, which is to be preserved by the Church under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He emphasized the need to adhere to holy tradition as it is present in the Apostles' writings and the Church. The conversation ended with a prayer and a blessing for all attendees.
