Day 15: YES, LORD
Matthew 9:27-31
Two Blind Men Healed
27 When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”
28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.” 31 But when they had departed, they [a]spread the news about Him in all that [b]country
"Two blind men yelling and pleading and following Jesus as He walked through town would've raised quiet a ruckus. No doubt their volume got people's attention, but so did their words "Son of David" was a messianic title referring to the One who would (1) fulfill hundreds of Old Testament prophecies, including (2) being born in the line of king of David, in order to (3) rescue and redeem the nation of Israel. But healing every disease and every affliction has a tendency to steal the show, and that's okay because every miracle-(or lack thereof) serves a greater purpose. But let's back up, because before the steady stream of healings that make some of us wonder, why them and - (insert your name here)? There was a paralytic and a rooftop and a very clear explanation for why Jesus was doing what He was doing.
