Day 5: RENEGADE - THE CHOSEN 40 Days with Jesus
John 1:9-13
9 That[a] was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His [b]own, and His [c]own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [d]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God … (NKJV) …
Christ offers LIGHT to every person, it’s the world and even many of His own who refuse to receive Him, because they fail to know Him or even recognize Him … It’s only those who truly accept Him have and receive His Light …
(v. 12) - RIGHT- ἐξουσία exousía, ex-oo-see'-ah; from G1832 (in the sense of ability); privilege, i.e. (subjectively) force, capacity, competency, freedom, or (objectively) mastery (concretely, magistrate, superhuman, potentate, token of control), delegated influence:—authority, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength… This is indicating a gift from God and not inalienable right … When we accept Christ we become children of God by adoption- (Galatians 4-7) - https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians%204%3A4-7&version=NKJV - meaning by grace we inherit everything Christ is by nature- (“a process called “Deification'', also see 2 Peter) … To believe in HIS NAME means to believe and trust in Him who in His humanity took the name of Jesus as Word, Son, Messiah, and Savior …
What is most striking to you about the way Jesus began His ministry years??? It was His patience that struck me the most … Our Lord and Savior had such patience to endure all He had to endure for the salvation of all, to save us all from spiritual death …
Jesus repeatedly extended His hand to all types of people … In what ways do you need to be more like Him??? Who do you struggle to welcome??? The one thing I pray for the most is patience, Christ has brought me a long way but sometimes, I still get a bit overwhelmed and my patience lacks because of this … I need to be more welcoming to those who randomly seek my help, like I stated my patience sometimes with people who lack organization is an issue for me at times …
In what ways are you a renegade for Jesus??? In what ways do you need to become more of one??? I’m a renegade with my studies, I’m a prayer warrior… I also love my JPCE Spiritual Talk website sharing all the great things Christ has done in my life … The last part of the question I think for me is I need to work on fasting better and this will help me to become one with Christ more …
