DAY 124: LET NO ONE LOOK DOWN ON YOU (1 Timothy 4:12)- Have Confidence and Self Discipline...

Good morning, my brothers and sisters in Christ.

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no one [a]despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, [b]in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Summary:

Jared discussed self-discipline and confidence in ministry, using examples from Timothy and Paul's experiences. The discussion also covered the concepts of prophecy and eldership, and Jared urged the audience to ignore the noise about their shortcomings and focus on their strengths in Christ. The talk ended with a reminder to keep their hearts pure and faith strong.

Self-Discipline and Confidence in Ministry 0:00

Jared led a discussion about self-discipline and confidence in one's ministry. He started with a devotional focusing on not letting anyone look down on others, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses. Jared then discussed the example of Timothy, a young and insecure man whom Paul chose to be a religious leader despite his perceived shortcomings. The discussion ended with a reminder that one's area of weakness can be God's means of demonstrating his call and transforming one's life into a model of godliness.

Timothy's Advice: Be an Example 3:56

He referred to a passage from Timothy, chapter 4, verses 12 through 16, where Paul advises the young Timothy. Jared highlighted the critical points of this passage, such as not paying attention to the noise about one's youth but being an example to believers in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith, and purity. He also discussed the concept of prophecy and eldership in the passage's context.

Confidence and Discipline in Ministry 8:26

Jared discussed the topic of confidence and discipline in ministry, using Second Corinthians, chapter 12, verses 7 through 10, which talks about Paul's thorn in the flesh and his struggles. Jared emphasized that our weaknesses can keep us humble and confident in our calling rather than allowing them to hinder us. He also touched on the idea of ignoring the noise that surrounds our weaknesses and focusing on our strengths in Christ. The discussion concluded with a prayer and a reminder to keep our hearts pure and our faith strong.

In Christ, love Jared W. Campbell
